Cristina’s Creative Journey: Sketching my Story

Cristina is a graphic designer and crafter with nearly 20 years of experience in the field of visual design. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Bloomfield College and has spent the past 19 years working in higher education as a graphic designer in the public relations department.

Over the years, she’s created visual content that:

  • Informs audiences clearly and creatively
  • Inspires connection and curiosity
  • Brings people together through thoughtful design

For Cristina, design has never been just a job;  it’s a way to tell stories, express ideas, and build meaningful connections through creativity.

A New Chapter in Interactive Design

Recently, Cristina decided to pursue a master’s degree in Interactive Media and Communications. Her motivation?

  • A desire to expand her skills and stay ahead in an ever-evolving field
  • A passion for teaching and mentoring the next generation of designers

Her ultimate goal is to teach in higher education, empowering students to grow into confident, capable creators in today’s dynamic digital world.

Cristina is especially drawn to projects that blend video, sound, and graphics to create immersive, interactive experiences, the kind that push creative boundaries and engage audiences on multiple levels.

Crafting, Creativity, and Community

Outside of her professional and academic life, Cristina is an avid crafter and maker. She loves creating personalized items for clients using techniques like:

  • Sublimation
  • Heat transfer vinyl (HTV)
  • Laser engraving
  • Resin art

Crafting isn’t just a hobby, it’s a source of joy and entrepreneurial energy. One day, she hopes to open a crafting school that welcomes learners of all ages, rooted in her belief that creativity should be accessible to everyone and that learning never truly ends.

Looking Ahead

Cristina’s journey is guided by curiosity, passion, and a commitment to growth. Through design, teaching, and crafting, she continues to explore new paths and possibilities,  seeing every step as part of a larger creative journey.

As she often says, she’s just getting started.
